Luma AI Credit System
Credits are the currency used for generating images and videos in Dream Machine. Each month, your subscription provides a set number of credits.
Unused credits from one month do not rollover to the next month when your account resets for the new billing cycle.
Read More: Dream Machine Credit System
Top-up Credits
If you run out of credits within a billing cycle, you can buy Top-up Credits anytime you want or need. Unlike your monthly credits, Top Up credits are good for a year from your purchase date and follow you when upgrading or downgrading your subscription
To Top-up Credits: Go to Your Account > Your Subscription > Buy credits.
Web & iOS Credit Pricing
Photon
Each image generation costs 4 credits. Images are generated in batches of four, costing 16 credits per batch.
Audio:
No credits are used for creating audio. Audio not available on Ray3.
Fast vs Relaxed Mode
Dream Machine's credit system has two modes, Fast and Relaxed. Your generation time and priority is based on your type of plan and available credits. When fast credits are available, your images and videos are first in line to generate.
The number of fast credits and access to Relaxed Mode depends on your plan. All subscriptions have their own queues and their own priorities.
Unlimited and Enterprise plans include Relaxed Mode for endless generations after your monthly fast credits run out.
Lite and Plus plans do not include Relaxed Mode. Once you run out of credits, you’ll need to purchase Top-up Credits or wait until your next billing cycle rolls over to continue generating.
Fast Credits
With an Unlimited or Enterprise plan, you get a bundle of monthly fast credits. These give your generations top priority and access to the fastest GPUs.
Fast credits are consumed based on settings like model type and resolution. Once you run out, you are automatically switched to Relaxed Mode.
Relaxed Mode
In Relaxed Mode, generations have lower priority and slower generation times. Unlimited and Enterprise plans let you create endless generations without having to top up your subscription. You can create as much as you want without spending any credits.
1. Interview me ?️
Act as an experienced interviewer. Interview me thoughtfully and creatively about [topic /project /idea]…
Goal: Overcome a blank page
Use this when…
You’re stuck battling writer's block
Your thoughts are scattered
You’re trying to crystallize abstract ideas
Tips:
Specify how you want to be interviewed (e.g., "Ask one question at a time")
Request follow-up questions that build on your previous answers
Ask for a summary of your responses at the end to clarify your thinking
2. Help me edit ✍️
Act as an experienced editor. Please first slowly read and analyze the following text without rewriting it: [paste or upload text]. Then provide a numbered list of concise, specific, constructive observations to help me strengthen the piece by noting any of the following issues in my writing…
Goal: Polish your words
Use this when…
You’re refining an important message
You don’t have a friend or colleague to help with editing
You want to strengthen an early draft before sharing it
Tips:
Request specific feedback on common weaknesses like clichés; weak verbs; passive voice; awkward or confusing phrases; redundancy; run-on sentences; or issues with grammar, spelling or punctuation.
Ask the AI not to change your text but to provide a numbered list of potential issues for you to address, along with concise explanations of the concern. That way it’s not making changes on your behalf. You remain in full control of the editing process and the language you choose.
If you find yourself overwhelmed with editing suggestions, prompt your AI assistant to proceed like a patient editing coach progressing step-by-step, noting only one issue at a time.
3. Organize my rambling ?️
Please organize the following information into a clear, structured format: [paste or upload notes/ thoughts/ transcript]. Identify the main themes or categories, group related points together, and create a logical flow…
Goal: Structure messy materials
Use this when…
You have disjointed thoughts needing structure
Your meeting notes lack organization
You've brainstormed ideas and need help categorizing them
Tips:
Try different organizational frameworks (chronological, thematic, priority-based)
Request specific formats like bullet points, numbered lists, or sections with headers
Transform transcripts into actionable summaries with clear next steps in a format you customize
4. Push my thinking ?
Help me explore unusual, creative, unconventional approaches to [topic/ challenge/ issue]. First, briefly summarize what conventional wisdom typically suggests in this situation. Then, provide 5-7 surprising, unexpected, or innovative alternatives…
Goal: 10x your ideas
Use this when…
You suspect your thinking is limited or conventional or you may have blind spots
You’re aiming for exceptional — not satisfactory— work
You’re open to new directions or radically distinct ideas
Tips:
Ask specifically for "surprising, unusual, unexpected, or unconventional approaches"
Request multiple options — 5-10 different possibilities to start. Then ask for even more ideas. The AI doesn’t tire, and it might be the 9th (or 17th) idea that finally resonates.
Consider how elements of multiple responses might be combined
Act as an expert project manager. I need to plan [project/ task/ event] with these constraints: [time/resources/ team composition/ other limitations]. My goal is to [desired outcome], and my working style is [preferences]. Please draft 3 possible structured plans…
Goal: Map out a day, a long-term goal, or a complex project.
Use this when…
Tackling complex projects with multiple components
Feeling overwhelmed by a task or deadline
Needing an objective perspective on your approach
Coordinating work across team members with different skills
Tips:
Include specific constraints (time, resources, team composition)
Mention your preferences and working style
Specify the level of detail you need in the plan
Ask for contingency options if certain approaches don't work
6. Help me understand ?
Act as a wonderful teacher and experienced explainer. I need help understanding [concept/ document/ idea] at a [beginner/ intermediate/ advanced] level. My background knowledge is [relevant context], and I need to understand this for [purpose]. Please explain this in clear, concise language…
Goal: Simplify something confusing.
Use this when…
Grappling with complex or technical material
Struggling with jargon, legal language, dense research, an exhausting PDF, or bureaucratic documentation
Stuck trying to grasp a confusing point
Trying to process complicated info while tired
Tips:
Specify what format would help you understand (analogies, examples, summaries)
Indicate your current knowledge level on the topic
Upload any relevant files you have on hand
Mention why you need to understand this (to explain to others, make a decision, etc.) because that may impact the nature of the response
Specify a preferred explanation length or depth based on your need
7. Help me clarify ?
Act as an expert in clear communication. I need to communicate about [topic] to [specific audience] through [medium: email/ presentation/ report]. Here's my current draft or thinking: [paste content or ideas]. Please help me clarify this message by identifying areas that might be confusing…
Goal: Strengthen how you’re communicating.
Use this when…
Crafting important communications that need precision
Struggling to articulate an idea concisely
Preparing content for presentations or public sharing
Wanting to ensure your message is clear to a specific audience
Tips:
Provide details about your audience and their background
Specify the communication medium (email, presentation, website)
Indicate tone preferences (formal, casual, technical)
Ask for multiple versions to compare different approaches
8. Help me make ⚡️
Act as a patient, detail-oriented instructor. I want to create [project/ item/ content] and need step-by-step guidance. My skill level is [beginner/ intermediate/ advanced], and I have access to these resources: [tools/ materials/ software]…
Goal: Get customized instructions for how to do something.
Use this when…
Learning a new skill or process
Experimenting with unfamiliar tools or techniques
Seeking step-by-step guidance for a project
Troubleshooting challenges in creative work
Tips:
Use ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot's voice mode if you need hands-free instructions
Try ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode with video so the AI can see what you're working on
Ask for adaptations if you don't have all the suggested materials
Be cautious and skeptical at first when exploring a new skill area with AI assistance, because hallucinations do arise. When in doubt, double-check with a familiar reference link or fact-check with alternative research tools.
9. Help me find ?
I need to locate specific information about [topic] within [my docs/ online/ this database or field]. I'm looking for [exact details of what you're seeking] for the purpose of [how you'll use this information] …
Goal: Locate something buried in a document or somewhere online.
Use this when…
You’re searching for specific points within lengthy documents
You need targeted research on a particular topic
You’re looking for connections across multiple sources
You want to confirm the source of a data point
Tips:
Unlike the other prompts in this post, this one works best with specialized AI tools. These include:
NotebookLM, which looks only at your uploaded materials [read more].
ChatGPT and Perplexity’s new “deep research” models, which provide citations.
Consensus (example) and Elicit (example) can help you research and better understand a complex issue drawing on academic publications, and you can use a detailed query for more precision.
Be as specific as possible about what you're looking for and why
Request citations so you can verify the information independently
Not all prompts are created equal. Depending on your goal—whether it’s summarizing a memo, drafting an email, or analyzing text—you might use different types of prompting strategies. Below are several common prompt types to consider:
Prompt Type Description Example
Zero-Shot Prompt Give simple and clear instructions without examples. Useful for a quick, general response. “Summarize this article in 5 bullet points.”
Few-Shot Prompt Provide a few examples of what you want the AI to mimic. Helps the model learn your desired structure or tone. “Here are 2 example summaries. Write a third in the same style.”
Instructional Prompt Include direct commands using verbs like "write", "explain", or "compare." “Write an executive summary of this memo. Keep it under 100 words.”
Role-Based Prompt Ask the AI to assume a particular persona or viewpoint. Useful for creativity and domain-specific responses. “You are an MBA professor preparing a lecture outline...”
Contextual Prompt Include relevant background or framing before asking a question. Helps the AI tailor responses to a specific audience or setting. “This text is for an undergrad course on behavioral econ. Rephrase it in simpler language.”
Meta Prompt / System Prompt Behind-the-scenes, system-level instructions that set the AI’s behavior, tone, or scope before any user input. Typically written by the platform (e.g., OpenAI). You won't usually don’t see or write these unless you're building your own AI tool. “Always respond formally and cite real sources. Never guess.”

How to Use AI Video Prompts to Create Better Scripts Using Story Generators
Silvi Dua
May 16, 2025
A blank page can be daunting, especially when you must write compelling video scripts for everything from onboarding new hires to showcasing your latest marketing campaign. Luckily, with the rise of AI, you now have a powerful ally: the story generator.
But simply asking AI to “write a video script” often yields generic, uninspired results. The trick lies in crafting effective video prompts that guide AI to produce scripts that are not only relevant but also engaging.
This post will detail how to leverage the power of AI video prompts, particularly when combined with story prompt generators, to create faster, smarter scripts for training, marketing, and beyond. With a strong prompt, you can say goodbye to robotic outputs and say hello to content that resonates with your audience and drives action.
What is a Story Generator?
A story generator is an AI tool designed to create narrative structures. Unlike a general script generator, it focuses on building a sequence of events, characters, and a resolution. This framework is invaluable for video because humans are wired for stories. Whether you need a customer success narrative or a product demonstration framed as a journey, a story generator helps infuse your video scripts with natural flow and emotional connection.
Why Prompts Matter in Video Production
AI is a highly skilled, though somewhat literal, assistant. It can process vast amounts of information and generate text quickly, but vague prompts lead to vague outputs. It needs direction and well-crafted video prompt ideas to create content that aligns with your objectives, target audience, and brand voice.
Investing time in writing effective prompts saves you time and resources in the long run. You’ll spend less time editing and refining generic scripts and more time focusing on the strategic impact of your video content. Strong prompts are the key to unlocking the true potential of AI prompt generators for video.
How to Format a Strong AI Prompt for Video Scripts
Creating effective short video prompts involves providing the story prompt generator with specific parameters. Here’s a breakdown of key elements to include:
1. Be Clear About the Goal
Begin by clearly stating the objective of your video. What outcome do you want to achieve with this piece of content? For instance, instead of a vague request, be precise: “Write a 60-second explainer video script that introduces our new scheduling tool to first-time users,” clearly defining the length, topic, and target audience.
2. Specify the Audience
Clearly define the intended viewers of your video, as this understanding will significantly shape the script’s tone, vocabulary, and level of complexity. For example, if you need to “Create a script for a 30-second recruitment video aimed at entry-level software engineers,” this specificity ensures the language and focus resonate with that particular demographic.
3. Define the Format or Constraints
Don’t forget to outline any limitations or specific requirements that the AI needs to adhere to, such as the video’s length, desired tone, or intended platform. For instance, requesting to “Generate a 15-second product teaser in a friendly, upbeat tone for social media” sets clear parameters for both the duration and the overall feel of the script.
4. Give Context or Inputs
Provide the AI prompt generator with any crucial background information or key details that must be present in the script to ensure accuracy and relevance. For example, when you specify, “Use the following three points: 1) save time with automation, 2) syncs with Google Calendar, 3) no setup required,” you’re grounding your message in context to adhere to.
5. Ask for a Call to Action
To ensure your video effectively drives the desired outcome, explicitly instruct the AI tool on the action you want viewers to take at the end. A clear instruction like, “End the script with a CTA that invites viewers to ‘book a demo’ or ‘start a free trial,’” ensures the script concludes with a direct and measurable goal.
6. Bonus: Use Prompt Templates
Consider developing reusable frameworks for your most common video types to enhance efficiency and consistency in your script generation process. For instance, you might reuse the following video prompt ideas:
“Explain [feature] to [audience] in [time] using a [tone] voice. End with [CTA]”
“Summarize [topic] for a [job title] in a explainer”
“Explain [feature] to [audience] in [time] using a [tone] voice. End with [CTA]”
“Summarize [topic] for a [job title] in a explainer”
How to Make Sure Your Prompts Generate On-Brand Video Scripts
While AI excels at generating scripts quickly, ensuring they consistently reflect your brand is paramount. One effective way to streamline this is by creating a custom AI model (like a “CustomGPT“) and pre-loading it with your comprehensive brand guidelines. This proactive step helps the AI understand your brand voice, preferred phrasing, and the essence of your past content and scripts, leading to more on-brand video outputs. Here’s how to weave your brand identity into your text-to-video prompt examples:
1. Add a Brand Voice Description to Your Prompt
Clearly articulate the distinct personality and communication style that defines your brand to ensure the AI captures the right tone. For instance, when you prompt, “Write a 30-second product demo in a conversational, supportive tone. Our brand voice is confident, clear, and optimistic, but never salesy or pushy,” you provide crucial guidance on how the AI response should “sound.”
2. Include Brand Language or Phrasing
Specify any unique terms, recurring phrases, or official taglines that are integral to your brand’s identity and should be woven into the video script. By adding, “Use the phrase ‘designed for scale’ when describing our platform. Avoid technical jargon,” to your prompt, you ensure key brand messaging is included while also setting stylistic boundaries.
3. Specify What Not to Include
Actively prevent the generation of off-brand content by explicitly stating any elements, language, or approaches that AI should avoid in the script. For example, instructing with “Do not include exaggerated claims, emojis, or informal phrases like ‘you guys’ or ‘super easy,’” helps maintain a consistent and professional brand image.
4. Use Sample Content or Past Scripts as Reference
Enhance AI’s understanding of your brand’s tone and style by providing it with examples of previously successful, on-brand video scripts or other relevant messaging. Attaching a directive like, “Use this sample script as a tone reference: [Insert brand-aligned sample text]. Match this tone in the new script,” offers the story prompt generator a tangible model to emulate.
5. Create a Brand Prompt Template for Reuse
Develop standardized brand guidelines that can be easily appended to any video prompt, ensuring consistent brand representation across all your video content. For example, a template stating, “Use our brand voice: human, clear, helpful. We speak directly to the user, avoid buzzwords, and focus on practical benefits. Videos should feel like a confident guide, not a sales pitch,” provides a reusable foundation for maintaining brand consistency.
How to Use a Story Generator to Structure Narrative Videos
Beyond simple explanations, some of the most impactful videos follow a story arc. Whether you’re showcasing a customer success story, highlighting an employee’s journey, or breaking down a problem and solution, using story-based prompts can create scripts that are far more engaging and memorable.
How to Structure Your Own Story Prompt Generator
Use these foundational structures to create your own unique story prompt generator.
1. The 3-Part Story Framework Prompt
Think of this framework as a mini-movie structure that tells a story with a clear beginning (the problem), a middle (failed attempts), and an end (your solution and its success). It’s particularly effective when you want to show how a problem was overcome by a product or solution you offer.
Prompt Template: “Tell a story where [person/team] is facing [challenge]. Show how they tried to solve it and what wasn’t working. Then introduce [solution/product/training], explain how it helped, and end with the outcome they experienced.”
Example Prompt: “Write a 60-second video where a customer service manager is overwhelmed by high call volume. They try manual tracking, but it fails. Then they adopt our AI support tool and reduce call handling time by 30%.”
Sudowrite is a clever AI tool that excels in brainstorming and outlining. You can input a basic idea, and it can help you develop the “Beginning,” “Middle,” and “End” sections by suggesting plot points, character arcs, and conflicts.
2. The Testimonial Generator Prompt
This prompt is designed to generate a script that sounds like a genuine endorsement from someone who has directly benefited from your offering. It focuses on creating a relatable and believable narrative from their point of view that can be used for product testimonials and customer case studies.
Prompt Template: “Write a first-person testimonial from [persona] who used [product/training/initiative]. Include their role, their original pain point, how they found the solution, and the results they experienced.”
Example Prompt: “Create a testimonial video script from a new hire in onboarding who used our video training program to ramp up in under a week.”
Jasper AI has specific templates and workflows for generating marketing copy, which can then be adapted for testimonials. Look for their templates related to customer stories, reviews, or social proof.
3. The “Day in the Life” Prompt
Use this prompt to give viewers an inside look at what it’s like to be in a specific role, showcasing the daily activities, the work environment, and the distinctive aspects of the job. It’s a powerful tool for attracting talent and building a positive employer brand. Use this prompt for recruitment videos, employer branding initiatives, or simply introducing internal teams.
Prompt Template: “Write a short story from the perspective of [role] walking through a typical workday. Highlight tools, culture, and what makes their work unique.”
Example Prompt: “Generate a 45-second ‘day in the life’ video for a remote content strategist at a SaaS company.”
With SundaySky’s AI video generator, you can craft a “day in the life” video prompt in just minutes, thanks to fast, automated recommendations.
4. The Scenario-Based Training Prompt
Utilize this prompt to create engaging and practical learning and development content by presenting a realistic workplace situation and guiding the learner through the appropriate actions or best practices. It aims to make training videos more relatable and interactive by showing viewers, rather than just telling them.
Prompt Template: “Describe a workplace scenario involving [conflict/problem]. Write a script that introduces the situation, shows what goes wrong, and walks through the correct response or best practice.”
Example Prompt: “Create a scenario where a manager gives unhelpful feedback. Pause and explain how to deliver constructive feedback instead.”
Pro Tip: Consider creating a shareable “Story Prompt Generator” repository for your team. By combining these structural templates with your specific content goals, you can generate a wide array of impactful video scripts efficiently.
